One of the free amigurumi crochet patterns we will share today is the amigurumi owl keychain, whose photos and design belong to Svetlana Bolotova. You can learn how to crochet these owl using the free amigurumi pattern. Thanks to Svetlana Bolotova for this cute owl keychain.
You will need:
• Gazzal Baby Cotton yarn (60% cotton, 40% acrylic, 50 g/165 m)
• 1.75 mm crochet hook
• 6 mm half beads for eyes
• 3 buttons for the tail and wings
• Fabric glue
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
• Fiberfill
Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times
Head and body
Make 9 ch. Make an oval, starting from the 2nd ch from hook, work on both sides of the chain.
R 1: from the 2nd ch from hook: 7 sc, 3 sc in last st, turn: 6 sc, 2 sc in last st [18]
R 2: inc, 6 sc, 3 inc, 6 sc, 2 inc [24]
R 3: 1 sc, inc, 6 sc, (1 sc, inc) repeat 3 times, 6 sc, (1 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [30]
Put two stitch markers on the sides.
R 4: (4 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
R 5: (5 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
R 6: (6 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [48]
R 7-18: 48 sc (12 rows)
Change color:
R 19-20: 48 sc (2 rows)
We will make decreases on the sides of the body.
R 21: (22 sc, dec) repeat 2 times [46]
R 22-23: 46 sc (2 rows)
R 24: make decreases on the sides of the body [44]
R 25-26: 44 sc (2 rows)
R 27: make decreases on the sides of the body [42]
R 28-29: 42 sc (2 rows)
R 30: make decreases on the sides of the body [40]
R 31-32: 40 sc (2 rows)
Fold the top opening flat and sew both sides together.
Fasten off.
Eyes (make 2)
With white yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in mc [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
