Use the long tail you left at first, 16-slst on the colar.
Short
Chain 17, insert the hook to the first chain to make a circle.

Cut the yarn. Crochet leg 2 in the same way. Do not cut the yarn. Insert the hook into the next stitch on leg 1. Keep crocheting the next round.

Rnd 12. 3-slst on the back of the short, chain 21, insert the hook to the 7th chain, 15-slst on chains, skip 1sts on the short, 23-slst, 21 chains, insert the hook to the 7th chain, 15-slst on chains, skip 1sts on the short, 4-slst. Weave in the end.
Sew the buttons on the front of the short, 6 sts apart.
